Introduction

904L N08904 1.4539 Stainless Steel Tube is an austenitic stainless steel with a 1.5% copper addition and a very low carbon content. It can be used at temperatures up to 40°C and is resistant to high temperatures. The outer and inner walls are smooth and burr-free. It is available in various diameters and lengths and can be customised. 904L N08904 1.4539 Stainless Steel Tube has applications in piping systems, pollution control equipment, heat exchangers and bleaching systems. It also has superior corrosion resistance in salt water, so it can be used for making diving props, ships, etc.

Features

The addition of molybdenum to 904L N08904 1.4539 Stainless Steel Tube gives it excellent resistance to localised attack by chlorides and higher resistance to reducing acids compared to 316L. In particular, the addition of copper gives it effective corrosion resistance to all concentrations of sulphuric acid. Its high alloy content also gives it greater resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. What's more, its low carbon content makes it resistant to weld sensitisation and prevents intergranular corrosion.
