Overview
ASME SA789 UNS S31803 S32205 TUBE is a special type of stainless steel tube. This is mainly due to the difference in the chromium and nickel it contains from ordinary stainless steels, with approximately 50% each of ferrite and austenite. ASME SA789 UNS S31803 S32205 TUBE combines excellent toughness and weldability with high strength and resistance to chloride stress corrosion. The result is more robust and durable.
The ultra-high chromium and molybdenum content makes ASME SA789 UNS S31803 S32205 TUBE extremely resistant to uniform corrosion by organic acids such as formic and acetic acid. Super Double also offers excellent resistance to inorganic acids, especially those containing chlorides. In addition, it retains its lustre in air and does not rust. This is due to the presence of a certain amount of chromium alloying elements, which enables the steel surface to form a strong oxide film that is insoluble in certain media.
